Hi Shan,

You will need to check whether standard controls have been used in the Java
application. However, installing the access bridge does no harm so install
it and try it.
Note:
if custom controls have been used, then the developers should have
implemented the accessibility API.

Shan

I have installed the Java Access Bridge (v 2.0) and it did provide access to
some internal corporate web sites that I previously did not have access to;
however it did not solve all my access problems since I still encounter a
page that JAWS can not read at all. . Check out the JAWS help topic "Java"
for some more info.
Good Luck!

Subject: java access bridge

        Hi:

I use Jaws 7 and have just encountered an java application in my work.
Jaws of course doesn't see anything. it considers the screen of the
application to be a graphic. I started reading up on Java access bridge
and was wondering if anyone else has installed it and did yo encounter any
problems. In my reading it sounds like the java developers have to have
used the various access classes otherwise the java access bridge will not
work. Is there anyway to establish if the access bridge will work before
installing it? anything to look at directly from the point of view of the
java applet?
