shown up there yet.  I didn't know you were using JFW, hence this message

I can't replicate your problem here, but I'm doing it a different way which 
you may or may not be able to do.  I'm using Eudora, and entering accents 
using the JFW insert-4 feature which lets you choose accents from a 
list.  This list contains all the accents you will need to write 
Spanish.  I see the accent immediately.  Another approach, which may work, 
is to enter accents from Word using 'dead keys.'  That used to work for me, 
but now in Word 2003 hitting ctrl-grave accent followed by a letter doesn't 
give me an accented letter like it did in previous versions of Word.
