Hi Bill many thanks for your sergestion I will try it. May I ask do you have any profile setups in Jaws that you have made and if so what are they? an example might help me get to grips to how to do it. I've tryed downloading the daisy book called Voice profiles and there is another one that I wanted to download for researchit but when I go to check for updates and find it with a star next to it which means I haven't downloaded it I press enter on it and enter on the next dialog box but Jaws just says that I have the latest version and stubbenly refuses to download the books. I have downloaded all of the Jaws books that were avadable for me but can't work out why some more that have stars don't want to download. Just so you know and everyone else who can help out I am using Jaws demo with latest version/build of Jaws 11 if that's any help. After saving the new profile, it is necessary to go into the 'select profile' option, and select the program you want to use the profile for. This way, the factory profile remains available for you in the future, should you want to revert to it. One important thing is to not make the new profile the default, unless you want that profile loaded when jaws starts up, and to be global when no profile is used for a program. HTH. Basicly I want to know how to change the speach rate in this case I want to increase it as I am kind of getting use to the faster rate and I quite like it. I know how to change the rate but the thing that is puzzleing me is that when I have ajusted my settings and go to overright the old factory settings to be replace with the new one it puts in a new profile so I have 2 instead of 1 if you see what I mean. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to do this? I really don't understand the hole of this profile thing. Many Thanks Daniel
