Hi, I like Sebastien personally. His is a French voice that uses the pronunciation heard from people from France. You can find him in the RealSpeak Solo Direct voices page in the Freedomscientific website. This pronunciation is the one with the widest international acceptance. If you're from Canada or will be spending time there, you might try Virginie as hers is a Canadian French pronunciation. Personally, I have a hard time understanding someone with this accent because I haven't spent much time exposed to it. I find I have to ask quebecois to slow down a lot when speaking french and I've been told by a Frenchman or two that they have to listen pretty close to them too. Honestly though, you want to try and hunt down a native speaker to learn your french. The anenberg cpb project has their excelent French In Action course for free on their website after you register. It'll be of far more use to you than any text to speech engine ever conceived. Pimsleur is also wonderful since it focuses exclusively on audio language learning Bonne Chance, Alex ps You're welcome to e-mail me privately to discuss this matter further. It's very easy to get off topic when this comes up. On 8/2/09, Frank Siedlaczek <listen@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Hi! I think the Acapela Voices (Infovox) are quite good.
