Troy,

Maybe this is not a JAWS problem at all. I wonder if its an Internet
Explorer problem.

I've recently moved onto IE 7 and have had one particular problem that the
web designers say is a result of changes within IE 7.

On the National Lottery website in the UK, If I click on the move to the
checkout to pay I get an error message saying "timed out" when paying for
multiple tickets. The NL helpline suggested I go into Tools, Internet
Options, Advanced settings and click on Reset to Default. No more problems
so far.

Hi Kelly,
In my experience even hitting alt-down arrow first kicks me out. I'm using
Jaws 8.0, I don't remember what version I used to use when I could use the
boxes, I suppose that it could be a problem with Jaws but I'd have to go
back and install every version of Jaws from 4.0 on to check out that
possibility.

So to make the page accessible would just require adding a go button?
Troy

Troy,

If you expand the selection list first, do you get kicked out of forms mode?
By expand I mean use alt+down arrow after you turn on forms mode? I just
tried this and didn't get kicked out.

the problem here is that some selection lists use a technique that submits
the form on a change. This means that when the user changes the selection
in the form, that value is submitted. The solution here is not to do this
and require the user to hit an actual submit/go button of some form. That
said, typically the alt+down arrow expand box will work because then the
selection control will let you arrow up and down and not submit the change
until you tab away.
