sounds like it's also been updated to xpsp2. she can try checking the read
messages in plain text only box on the read tab of the outlook express
options if outlook express is what she is using to read email.

Subject: email reading problem

Hi All,
I just received a request from a friend.
The tech where she works installed access on her computer. Now she is having
a problem reading email. When she opens a message she must tab once then use
insert/down arrow to read. Any ideas on how to get it back to auto read when
she opens the message?
