I'm with you. the jaws cursor settings would be my next stab at this. I
don't know why the defaults don't work for you except that maybe you have a
funny cursor on your system.

I changed the cursor blink rate to zero in accessibility options as =
suggested.
The highlited letter still echoes over and over again.
This happens in notepad, and internet explorer in edit fields, and also =
when editing short cuts.
I think I may play with the cursor options in jaws configuration manager =
next.
It sounds like this is not a common problem as no one else has "echoed" =
it on the list, if you know what I mean.
So, it may be very machine specific .
Still, any input much appreciated.
