downloads again

I am still going wrong on downloads. They are getting saved on my desk top.
It seems and we have been through this before, that every time I do a
download it goes to my desk top instead of my download files. I have created
a place under desk top, my computer, local disk c, documents and settings,
Steve Gomes, called downloads. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong but
it seems to want to send the file to the desk top which is under Steve
Gomes. It won't go that extra step and put it under downloads. What should
we do?
