Vickie,
I'm stil not clear what you meant. Are you saying that you already have a
Web site? And now you want, for some reason, to compose something like
journal entries or opinion somewhere *other* than on your own Web site, and
link to them from your site? I don't understand the idea. If you already
have a personal Web site, why not just devote a portion of it to your
ongoing blog-like entries? Why worry about establishing a separate blog for
yourself on one of the blog sites, and then providing links on your already
existing Web site to the blogs you have created a home for somewhere
else? Many or most people who maintain their own Web sites and want oto keep
the site dynamic and have visitors keep coming back to see updated material
do exactly that. They use one page or area of their site as a place for
their own reflections and comments, often providing some way for visitors to
respond on the site to each entry.
, a

If I've misunderstood you, it's only because you haven't said exactly what
you're actually thinking. If I have misinterpreted your meaning again,
please just try to reconsider how you've described your idea and rephrase
it. that's all it will take, whether your ideas are still in flux or not.
That isn't what's keeping me from understanding what you're saying.

Thanks.

Almost right. I will be writing the blogs and there will be links to those
on my website. I need to know how to create the website first, which is not
actually the question at the moment, and then put the links to the blogs
I've written on the blog site which is what I'm asking about now. I know
it's confusing, and it's probably because I'm still in the thinking part of
it. I'm just looking at all the options, and I'm trying to decide which of
those are most appropriate with JAWS. Thanks so much for the help.

I'm sorry. I misinterpreted the question. It appeared to be, to
paraphrase, "I'd like to begin posting a bog, myself. I understand there
are a bunch of free sites where you can use a prefabricated template that
enables most people to do this pretty easily without much technical
expertise, but I have the added complication of needing to know which of
these sites and templates is easiest to use with jaws."

That's what I thought you meant. Now, it seems that what you're saying is
more like "I'd like to build a Web site for myself, one of the purposes of
which will be to provide links to blogs I've read and want people to take a
look at. Does anyone know where I can get the best method for building a
personal web site, finding a host for it, getting a domain name, and
constructing it?"

That's what it sounds like , now. And I regret to say that I don't have
that expertise. I hope someone else does, though. good luck.

I'm more interested in written blogs, and if I can manage to find the time,
I might actually put them on my website. I guess the first question should
be what's the most JAWS friendly way to create my website, and then how do I
had the blog to that? I'm pretty computer literate, but his is fairly new to
me. Thanks.

Hi,

I think the actual question in this thread isn't where you can find
prefabricated sites for setting up a blog, but how screen reader-friendly
their various designs are, for a user who hopes to create and service his or
her blog with minimal need to turn to sighted assistance. I haven't yet
seen anyone address this.

Just trying to clarify.

just added audio blogs to the site.

I've heard of some sites used mostly by blind people for audio blogging but
I don't know where they are or what equipment or software is required. If
you have a lot of sighted friends mySpace is where you'll be most likely to
find them and they you.
the accessibility of the site itself is pretty fair though sometimes people
choose layouts for their spaces that are not accessible.
There is also a lot of flash content to deal with but overall, it's fairly
interesting and kind of fun.
