I wrote a rather scalding message to Cepstral about the continuing problem regarding the Cepstral David and Lawrence voices crashing since their version 3.4, 3.4.2 also, and this is the response I just received. Cepstral is a nice quick sapi 5 solution, and the voices are nice, but not when they crash. :)

Mr. Delzer,

We at Cepstral apologize sincerely that the voice product has not lived up to your expectations. Understanding the importance of text-to-speech to the
blind community, we have over the past couple of months put nearly all of our software development efforts into making the system much more stable when
used in TTS-intensive applications, such as Window-Eyes and Jaws. Only in the past week or so have we come to a point where we feel that it is not only
back to the level of stability that it used to enjoy, but it is far more stable than it ever was. In the coming weeks we will be releasing version 3.5.0
and we feel that this release will add layers of stability that we've not had until this point.

Again, we are sorry that the product has been something of a let-down to you, but I thank you for your continued patronage and support, and I assure you
that it will be much better soon. We will be sure to notify you the day we release version 3.5.0.

Sincerely,
  Jack Smith

SUPPORT TICKET #5283

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
CPU: Other (Intel 1.1Ghz P3)
RAM: > 512 MB
Problem Type: Other
Problem Subject: Window-Eyes & Jaws (screen reading solution)
Problem Description:
----------------------------------------------
I am NOT A HAPPY VOICE USER! Voice (David) crashes computer, 3.4.2 and no fix or solution available in 2 months. Cannot use voice this way. Also, same with
Lawrence. Let me know when a fix is available. Someone in support wrote about a fix soon available, and nothing since September when that message was written.
Screen reading applications for the blind should be high in the priority of a voice application like Cepstral since that is a huge reason for the voices
popularity. It would do Cepstral no good at all whatever to tolerate this because, to be honest, there are now many solutions, ScanSoft, AT&T among others,
and I do enjoy your product, but not this way, I can't use it at all, whatever.
