I'm not sure if any player can do that; I've never seen it. WinDVD can
read the titles of the disks, which puts it one up on others I've tried,
but you just get title numbers for individual episodes. I agree that
would be a cool feature, but it probably has something to do with the
way they're written to the screen. The Bonanza episodes have short
biographies of the four co-stars, and you can't read those either.
