can JAWS solely rely on MSAA?

Hi,

I'm trying to make our application compatible with JAWS. We use the Qt widget toolset, so every widget is custom drawn. However, we provide MSAA for all widgets. Most of these work fine, but for a couple places in dialogs we have static text that isn't linked to a focusable widget.

Are there any suggestions about how to get JAWS to read this text? We're also curious if JAWS provides a way to navigate widgets beyond using tab focus. I found the Home Row, but it seems more suited to scripters than users.

Sincerely,
