auto read excel formulas

How do I perminantley turn that feature off?
In version 7 it was not on perminantley .
I have done it in the verbosity settings, while in excel, But I have to do
it every time I open a new spreadsheet. Since I get several new ones every
month,
this is a pain.
I have looked in the excel configuration file and can not find it.
Any suggestions?
