I always keep several copies of Jaws on my system.  That way you have a 
backup if something happens to the version you normally use.  Also, it is 
nice to use if you want to test things without affecting your working 
version.  Also, if you find a problem, it helps to isolate the problem if it 
happens in one version, but not the other version.  And you  might find you 
like the way something works better in one than another.

That was very easy and to the point, thank you. Would there be any reason to
leave JAWS5.0 on my system, or just dump it.
I certainly appreciate, and if it weren't for a list like this, I would have
been less adventurous with no support, but am happy with my year and a half
being in the computer world and my experience being accelerated with the
help.
