a question about the switchbox

When I have eudora open and msn instant messenger, and I'm talking in a
window to someone, I cannot return to the eudora program using alt +
tab. It will only toggle between jaws and the person I'm talking
to. Sometimes the opposite happens and it will only toggle between eudora
and jaws. I'm not sure where the problem lies. It also seems to involve
internet explorer at time. I realize my computer is a piece of junk and
needs to be replaced and probably have its operating system reinstalled but
it has no viruses etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Using one
program at a time is stupid!
