I did exactly what I did under default configuration. I went into speech and sounds manager. My scheme was already set to modified classic, so I edited the scheme. I went into Miscellaneous, and set the two caps settings to read item. I then typed in what I wanted each one to say in the edit field. I selected ok. I saved the new scheme. I exited configuration manager after saving my changes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nicol Oosthuizen" <NOosthuizen@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 6:36 AM Subject: RE: Word question NB: This email and its contents are subject to our email legal notice which can be viewed at http://www.sars.gov.za/Email_Disclaimer.pdf ---- Tell me exactly where did you went in speech and sounds manager. Did you create a new scheme or did you choose another scheme or did you edit the classic scheme? I have never used speech and sounds manager, but if you can give me the steps you took to set jaws to say cap with each capital letter, I might be able to go in there as well and test it and probably determine your problem. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Vicki Sent: 28 March 2007 03:12 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Word question I'm using Word XP Pro (2002) and I went into Speech and sounds manager. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nicol Oosthuizen" <NOosthuizen@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 11:54 PM Subject: RE: Word question NB: This email and its contents are subject to our email legal notice which can be viewed at http://www.sars.gov.za/Email_Disclaimer.pdf ---- What version of word are you using? For some reason, when I spell a word out letter by letter in Office XP, it's not behaving as I set it. Any ideas why this isn't working? I'm using JAWS 8. Thanks. BTW, this setting works everywhere else.
