Hi Jeanie. I am not using the same version of Jaws as you, but I am using windows 98se and word 2000, and I have had the same problem in the past. I found that if I refreshed Jaws by pressing insert escape, that some times would work, other times, my system resources would be low so I would have to re-boot my computer. Hope this helps.
