Hi,

Thanks for your response. Did you need sighted help to install windows 7? Perhaps your laptop had it on already.

It seems to be a great program or operating system, and just so all of us will know, there is a place in there where people who don't need the monitor can turn off the resources that windows 7 uses for the monitor. This speeds up the operating system. If you want more information, I can ask my brother where it is. He told me about it last night.

God Bless,

Wren

Hi I use a Conexant HDAudio onboard sound card. Don't know if it will work in 7, but will try it very soon. Stay tuned!

Hi again,

My brother went over lots of things with me concerning Windows 7. He can't get his sound to work, and I was wondering if any of you would mind telling me what you are using for sound? Onboard, separate sound card, and if so what card and what drivers? His card is a creative x-fi elete pro. It works with Vista.

Thanks for any information and help. Windows 7 sounds like it will be really nice to use.

My brother said there is a little arrow that you can put the cursor on, and that opens the place where all your system tray icons are. I can find out more about it if you want.

God Bless,

Wren

JAWS works reasonably well with Windows 7, however you can't access the list of system tray icons, and some things don't work as well. Rumour has it that a free update will be released in March and that will have Windows 7 as one of its new or improved features. For now though the current build of JAWS will suffice. This is 10.0.512.

 Hello all,

I realize that Windows 7 is not officially supported, but I have a question for a friend who's running the public beta.

How the heck do you get to All Programs in the Windows 7 start menu? The only way in which he's able to get to it is to make it a recent item and arrow down from the search box.
