This looks to be meant for a thread that was dropped apparently 2-3 days ago, and doesn't have anything to do with the usage of JAWS. As such, I'd appreciate it if the thread is closed at this point, or taken off-list to the original sender. Hi how are you? Sorry that i've just not gotten back to you. I'd like to know what tools are you using? The first three items you already have on your system. They are as follows: 1. Disk clean-up. To access this you go to my computer if you're using the english version of windows xp press enter on my computer, then go to your first hard drive if you happen to have 2 hard drives on your system, then you locate what is called your application key press it then use your up arrow to hear the word properties, after this hit the enter key You should hear the first tab heading say general if you don't hear this tab heading, use the shift key which is used in combination with the tab key to move to a different place then you should hear general. Press tab until you hear disk clean-up, then press enter. If you have jaws version 8 or higher, you should be able to hear the percentage until you hear 100% There is one place where you wouldn't want a check to be and that is when it says microsoft office setup files, please take the check mark out of that item by pressing the space bar. The reason is because you may need these files. The recycle bin you can delete the items out of there with out even using this tool but it is fine to leave that check mark there. you can type r on your desk top to get to your recycle bin and delete all of the files out of your recycle bin. i hope that that helps. While back at the disk clean-up you tab until you hear ok press enter and say yes this confirms that you want to have disk clean-up perform the action of cleaning your disk drive of the temporary files that are on the drive. You would want to say yes because this helps to free some space on your hard drive. This is one tool that you would use before you would use disk defragmenter. The third item that you have that you can do on your system is called check disk. This item takes longer than any other task and it is good to perform this task when you don't plan to use your computer for many hours. You won't be able to use jaws or anything at this time. This tool you should run it when you are going to bed. This tool does just what it says checks your disk for errors and it also checks to see if you have any lost clusters. If you have two things the first is an antivirus program, and the other is an anti spyware program, then you're ahead of the game and you use these tools to protect yourself from getting any viruses and spyware on your system. The best spyware protection program is supper antispyware. It is an excellent program and i've not had one piece of spyware being detected on my system. Avast is a good antivirus program that i use as well and i've not had a problem with it. If i haven't mentioned a fire wall to you i should have but i'm not sure which program to suggest because i'm still looking for a good fire wall program to use my self. I hope that the information that i've been able to give has helped you so far. Please let me know if i can do any thing..
