Hi Steve and Everyone,
After Steve's comment about the Remote Desktop help topics in JAWS, I went
and did some reading.
Now my VPN works flawlessly, with speech, Braille and at normal speaking
rate.
The trick:
When I left work today, before I logged off I shut down JAWS. I then logged
off. When I connected from home, JAWS was able to launch and begin with
Remote Speech and Remote Braille, and everything worked as expected.
I've still got more experimenting to do, but this tip cured all of my
troubles.
