hi John,

try changing the Jaws key from insert to the caps lock. See if this helps.

Hi All:

This is an issue I have had for a few months and was never able to get an
answer from FS tech support.

When I use JFW on a computer that has a USB keyboard, instead of a PS/2
keyboard, the Jaws key is not always recognized. This is frustrating, since
you think you are performing a command such as: Jaws + R, for example, but
instead just end up typing the letter R.

FS tech support had me do a bunch of tests and confirmed that indeed this
was happening.

I have tested this with three computers and two keyboards. All were running
JFW 6.2. There are no after market keyboard / mouse drivers loaded, just
vanilla MS. All computers are fully up-to-date with Windows updates. No
viruses or spy ware present.

On one of the computers, it also has a PS/2 keyboard connector. When the
keyboard is connected via that port, the Jaws key works fine every time.

I am baffled and wonder if anyone else has run across this problem? If so,
finding out whatever you did to solve the problem would be greatly
appreciated.

Best Regards,

John
