The graphical image of the word or string is intentionally distorted to
prevent optical character recognition by machine.

Subject: Turing Keys once again.

Hello. Sorry if this topic has been covered in the past, but I'm not
able
to follow the list as closely as I should.

I come across many web sites daily that require member's to sign in
using
their username, password and a randomly generated number embedded in a
graphic (Turing key). JAWS can not read the number contained in this
graphic of course.

Is there any 3rd party program or means of having this graphic converted
to
text, so that JAWS can read it in the web page? Is FS working on a way
that the Virtual Viewer can do this?

Printing the web page out and scanning it into a OCR program to find out
what the numbers or letters contained in the image is takes way too much
time.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition (SP2) and JAWS 6.10.106 along with a
Triple Talk USB hardware Synth.

Surprised with all the knowledgeable people who monitor this list daily,
no
one has created some sort of program that can work with these
graphics. Seems to me it only requires examining the .gif image for a
certain letter or number pixel pattern and converting it to the text
equivalent.
