Can you try running it with out the software?  shutting it down or something
for a while?  I would give that a shot and see if that works, seems like
some keyboard software with JFW is more trouble then it's worth especially
with windows 98SE, I had all kinds of trouble with software for keyboards
though with XP it seems a lot better.
