SpyWare Protection

Hi All,
I am using AVG 8.0, free version, for anti-virus.
I don't believe that includes spyware protection.
Can anyone recommend spyware protection for an XP Home computer?
Also, if any of you are using AVG 8.0, I'm having trouble scheduling the scans.
I'm using Jaws 10.
Any suggestions?
