Further to my posting. I went back to for-the-people and tried jaws 7.1
after unloading and reloading it but still get an error message and IE6
shuts down.

I tried to join for-the-people and each time I attempted to enter the site I
encountered a box that said a direct X plug-in was required and to click ok
to install it. Each time I clicked ok I got an error message and MS asked
if I wanted to send the message. I tried several times but could not get
in. I am using the latest beta of jaws 7.1. I thought I would try to see
if it might be a jaws issue so unloaded jaws 7.1.395 and loaded jaws 7.0.
I had no problem after that.
Not sure if this is indeed a jaws 7.1 issue or a run jaws as a service
issue.
Wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem?
