Thanks Dave and Alex for your help,
I have open book 7 on my desktop and 8 on laptop.
Open book 7 does say it opens .pdf, but its just when i try to open it, it
won't.
However, the print solution you both mentioned works great!
Who would actually think of that if they don't know it since 1 doesn't think
of it as printing?

You have to open it with adobe and print it out using the Freedom
Import printer. What version of OpenBook do you have? 8.0 does open
pdf's. I just did it. Go to file, open, then go to the directory
your pdf is in. Make sure open book searches for all files. Hit ok
and it should open for you. It'll scan it and recognize it first and
then you should be able to read it. Otherwise, follow my first
suggestion. From adobe's file menu, go to print. When it brings up
the dialog box, go to where you cans elect the printer. Make sure you
have Freedom Import Printer highlghted and hit enter. Adobe will
think it's printing the out the file but, it's actually going to
OpenBook's virtual printer which then sends it through the scanning
and recognition process.
