Dear Ray
Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support. Try taking
the steps below and see if the issue in Outlook Express still exist. If I
can be of any additional assistance to you, feel free to email me back.
1. Activate the run dialog (windows key+r)
2. Type in:
msconfig
and hit enter
3. Hold down the control key and press the tab key until you get to the
startup page
4. Tab to the disable all button and press the spacebar
5. Tab to the apply button and hit enter
5. Tab to the close button and hit enter
You will be prompt to restart your system, you will say yes to this. Once
the system is back up, see if the problem is resolved. If it is, go back to
the startup page and check each item one at a time until you determine which
was causing the issue.

Dear Tracey,
After following your instructions and re compiling the scripts, the
behavior of JAWS not sayign the letter f while backspacing over it remains.
I should note that the capital letter F is spoken; but, the lower case f is
not. When reading character by character with the arrow keys, not a
problem. It's just that JAWS will not say the lower case f while
backspacing over this character. Quite a number of us are experienceing
this issue also.

Outlook Express, activate the script manager with the insert+0 command.
Once the script file come up, perform the control+s command to recompile the
scripts. Now, shut down Jaws and relaunch it and see if the issue still
occur.

2. Press control N to make a new message or else reply to a message
3. Type at least one word of text which contains the letter f in it.
4. Backspace over the text. You will hear each letter except the letter
f. JAWS will say blank without the quotes instead of the letter f
Please note that this only occurs in Outlook Express and not in Microsoft
Word or Notepad or HJpad.
