I haven't received my CDs yet, so I don't have the voices. don't ask; I've been on the phone with FS three times about this, and their file shows they've resent the package twice by now, with nothing ever having arrived, at least not yet. Same address as since I began using Jaws, version 3.7. But anyway, I remember hearing that FS promotes these new voices as being agreeable to use when you're performing a Say All in a long text document, rather than when you're navigating a Web page or doing editing or anything else that requires a lot of operations and keystrokes. I assume everyone else heard that, too. No? They aren't recommending it for use as our default voice to simply get rid of Eloquence. God knows, Reed may have his faults, but at least he's got pretty good vocal reflexes for doing most of the work we do on the computer. What I'm wondering is, are the alternative voices so sluggish in their response that they make even sitting back and doing a sayall, for instance on a lengthy newspaper article, a pain in the butt? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt" <msoct@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, December 31, 2006 4:23 PM Subject: Re: Samantha won't stay I agree, the sapi voices are very sluggish, with a lot of pauses in the speech. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Siobhan" <littlesailorgirl@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, December 31, 2006 4:32 PM Subject: Re: Samantha won't stay > You probably don't want the sappy voices, because it's very sluggish > compared to Eloquence.
