Dave,
Check in the configuration manager for word 2007. Then open the verbosity and
edit the verbosity you're currently using.
In the list that opens you'll find a couple items that relate to what JAWS
speaks when opening a window. Give that a try.

Subject: Silencing Word 2007 Verbiage
Happy Friday All: It's little things like this that annoy me.
Opening documents in Word 2007, I get the thrilling announcements of
"Microsoft word non commercial use" and "compatibility mode"
Fooling around with JAWS Verbosity as well as the Dictionary Manager
failed to silence this superfluous verbiage.
Any hints, tips or tricks you can share?
Many thanks, Mitch
