Yes, the AT&T voices are SAPI5 compliant and are a nice change to the
robotic voice. If however you have the synthesizer read typed keys you will
not like the AT&T synthesizer because it take a bit more processing to
generate the nice voice and cannot keep up with typed text; it reads very
nice however.

Hi Amber,

I'm not sure if the AT&T voices are SAPI 5 compliant but I think they are.
If so, and assuming that you are running the latest version of Jaws 5, the
process should be pretty easy:

1. Install AT&T natural voices using the software's setup utility.
2. Once AT&T Natural voices is installed, go to the Jaws language menu,
select change synthesizer, and choose Sapi5. Once you do this, your
computer should begin speaking using your default SAPI5 synthesizer which in
most cases will be Microsoft sam unless you have changed things in the past.

3. Choose Voices from the Jaws options menu, and then select global
adjustment. Tab to the Person control and arrow through the available
choices. you should find that your new voices are listed.

Hopefully, that will do the trick.

Good luck,

--Al
