Also what happens sometimes is the window is announced by Jaws when I hit
Alt-tab, but when I hit up or down arrow it says "No Windows is active..."
Then when I alt-tab to another window and back it does the same thing. I end up
having to do something else on another program and waiting a little while for
that application to sit a while then alt-tab to it again.
This is a different problem than the applications that work but are invisible,
although there might be some cross-over.

Sounds like you should maximize the window for the application that doesn't
give you all controls. To maximize, press alt-spacebar, release, then x.

How do I read contents of both without alt-tabbing?
If I have to alt-tab, it's not any different than any other time, but the
invisible window sometimes doesn't have all of it's controls on it.

This may be better news than you think. for a sighted person, if a window opens
on top of another, s/he can use the mouse to separate them in order to view
them both. JAWS saves you that step by retaining the ability to read the
contents of both.
If you're concerned that a sighted person can't follow along, just tell them to
use the mouse to make the covered window visible again.

Hello, when I alt-tab or open up a new window like IE it opens, but it isn't
in front of the other programs that are up. Then when if I windows D and go to
that other program it's some times invisible. I can read it, but it's not able
to be seen by sighted people.
Anyone know what's up?
After alt-tabbing and minimizing and stuff like that it sometimes works to
where it shows up, but it's rather odd surfing the web on your desk-top...
Any help would be nice...
