Ni Brian,

First, make sure you've got the window maximized. Strange message from
word like "normal view" when you aren't expecting them can be caused by
not having the window maximized.

Next, the other cause of strange messages can be too many toolbars
displayed at the top of the window. Go into the view menu, choose the
toolbars submenu, and turn off everything except standard and formatting
toolbars. If you never use the formatting one you can turn it off.

Finally, I have sent you a link to an e-book entitled "keyboard
shortcuts for Windows XP and Word 2003". I hope you can find one for
Word that does what you want.

For anyone else wanting this book here's the link:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/bc4648

You should get it in the next few days, as it doesn't stay on SendSpace
long.

Brian, if you'd like to learn word 2003 better, write to me off list. I
have many e-books on word 2003, and while they aren't designed for blind
keyboard users, some of them do have the keyboard commands in the book
text.

hth,

Chip
