Thanks Chris. I guess I didn't say that correctly.  I did as you said prior
to my message and got the at risk message so turned it back on. I guess I
just wonder why I can't  turn it off so it doesn't slow things down yet
still be protected by the program itself.  Thanks.  Do you know how to add
web sites or does that have to do with the risk factor in what you allow?
Doesn't seem to be too many options in this program to choose from to tweek
it.  For some reason I cannot get on the blind bargains page and my computer
immediately says I am not connected to the Internet.

Well if you want to shut off realtime protection (not recommended), 
arrow to settings button, tab to the list of categories, arrow to 
realtime protection, tab to the first check box, uncheck it, tab to save 
button, activate it, and it should now be turned off.
