Are you reading your messages in plain text on the laptop?
I believe you must have the read all messages in plain text unchecked in order
to open a link.
If you have plain text checked in tools/options and the read page, you are only
able to read a message but not able to interact with it.
So, make sure "read all messages in plain text" is not checked.
There is evidentaly a command to undo this command for a given message of which
I have a copy but it does not appear to work as posted.
