I went into the about dialogue and yes I have jaws 4.51.

You said you are using 4.5? Why not 4.51, it is a free upgrade. The

reason I suggest that is because in the what's new for Jaws 4.51, it
says Microsoft Word, JAWS reads far more reliably within the Spell Check
