Outlook express, reading messages & no speech

Hi folks.
About 50% of the time when I open messages in Outlook Express in Jaws8,
speech stops, eventually returning if I fiddle around with alt+tab and such.
If I close then reload OE, things may work for a time. Anyone else have this
problem?
