Hello again, These steps have been clear to me, but nevertheless, I continue experiencing that problem. However, as I said, it is not happening in my office computer but only in the personal one. Any guess of what the problem could be in my case? Also, I would appreciate if anyone could tell me why am I recently having the problem of sending a document as an attachment from my office computer. For instance, if I have just translated a Word document and if I want to send it as attachment, I get a message somehow like 'no profile has been created for Microsoft Outlook...'. Thanks again. Here are step-by-step instructions. As long as your hotmail account was established prior to the policy change (I think it occurred about 3 years ago) you should be able to access your hotmail account through Outlook Express. Setting up Outlook Express for HotMail 1. Go to the tools <alt + t> and then to accounts. 2) You will be presented with a list view of all internet accounts presently in Outlook Express. <Tab> to the "add" button. 3. Do not press <enter> on the button as you would in other applications. Hitting <enter> on this button simply closes the dialog box. Instead press the space bar on the add button. 4. This will then bring up a list of options to choose from. Choose the first highlighted option "mail" and press <enter>. This will start the internet account wizard. 5. You are first asked for the display name for the account. You can put anything in this edit box you want. But keep in mind that this name will appear in the inboxes of anyone who receives mail from you. After you have entered a name, <tab> to the "next" button and press <enter>. 6. The next step is to add your email address for the new account. If you already have a Hotmail account, leave the default check box checked and then tab to the edit field below. This is where you will enter your Hotmail email account. For example, I would enter " debbiescales@xxxxxxxxxxx". After you have entered the address info, <tab> to the "next" button and press <enter>. 7. You will now be asked for your incoming mail server. In the case of Hotmail the choice is "http". this is the default setting. Then tab to the http mail server combo box. The default is Hotmail so you do not need to change this either. If you do want to change this, the only other choice is "other" and I have not used that either. After you have completed entering the information requested, <tab> to the "next" button and press <enter>. 8. Now you will be presented with the account name and password dialog. The account name is the first part of your Hotmail email address and is usually already filled in for you. for example, my account name is "debbiescales". After filling in the account name field, <tab> to the password field and enter your Hotmail account password. there is also a checkbox which will allow Outlook to remember your password. The check box is checked by default. If you do not want Outlook to remember your password, uncheck the box. Keep in mind that this will cause Outlook to ask you for your password every time you initially try to receive your Hotmail. After you enter it the first time, you will not be asked for it again while Outlook Express is running. Once you have decided that you do or do not want the password stored, <tab> to the "secure password authentication" check box. This box is unchecked by default and I have left it that way. You can change it to checked if you want. Then <tab> to the "next" button and press <enter>. 9. At last! you are done! if you have successfully entered all necessary info, then hit <enter> on the "finish" button and your Hotmail account is now ready to use. Now there are a few other things you can do to use your account. first, make sure the hotmail account is highlighted by using the up and down arrow keys until it is highlighted. Once there, <tab> to the "properties" button and press <enter>. This brings up the properties dialog box and contains fields for display name, email address, reply address and a few other fields. You may want to fill in the "reply address" field with your Hotmail email address. Then you may want to check the "include this account for receiving and synchronizing" check box. This will allow your Hotmail account to be included every time Outlook checks for new mail. After you have finished here, <tab> to the "ok" button and press <enter>. Then you can clear the accounts list by typing <alt + F4> or <escape>.
