Outlook Ex messaages incoming mail

Suddenly my messages are being entered in all sorts of different dates on
incoming mail.
I have checked under the view menu, column and nothing seems to have changed
re order of preference, and descending is checked in the sort by menu.
Would someone share with me the order of preference set under the column
selection on the view menu? Tks Mae
