Thanks David, your directions worked like a champ. A strange place to hide
that option.
Many thanks.

Hi Phil,
the option to display messages in plain text is well and truely buried:
1. Press the file tab button, arrow down to options, and press enter to open
the outlook options dialog (alt, f, t).
2. On the trust center page of this dialog, press the trust center settings
button.
3. In the trust center dialog, move to the e-mail security page, where
there's a check box to read all standard mail in plain text, which is
unchecked by default. If it's checked, then there's also a check box below
it for digitally signed email.

David.

original message:
I am running windows 7 64-bit, jaws 12, and office 2010 32-bit.
If I receive emails that contain tables, jaws seems to lock up for a few
minutes when I attempt to open them, and if/when it does open, jaws doesn't
read the message very well. It typically skips over parts of the table. I
can't get it to read the columns using any of the typical table reading
keystrokes.
I have looked through all the obvious ribbon choices in outlook 2010, and
since I believe outlook uses word to display the contents of messages, I
looked through words ribbon as well.
Does anyone know how I can either get jaws to read the messages correctly,
or to force the messages to be displayed in text instead of html?
By the way, system access has no problem reading these messages.
Many thanks in advance.
Phil
