Insert 3 on num pad will tell you number of messages that you have. Try
this keystroke and see how you like this, press control Y, this brings
up a list box of your folders and you can maneuver around using your
arrow keys or first letter navigation. Also, if you are in another
folder other than your "in" box, press control shift I and this will put
you directly back in your "in" box.

My outlook 2003 shows the number of unread messages in the folder list
area
near the In Box field.

I'm a new 2003 user also, and find that changing folders is more
cumbersome.
Used to just tab between the folders list and the content, but now I
have to
involve the jaws cursor and click back and forth.

Any suggestions or known key combinations?
