Hi,
Michael
Yes, you are exactly right in your assumption, and yes I have used those other cursors. I would still like to disable this feature of the Microsoft operating system, if only on my computer alone, since it interferes with the running of some of my other programs like my OCR software package finereader7.0.
When this send or don't send message pops up on the screen, none of my other automatic messages of my software package are read until I stop every thing and tend to it, and a few minutes later, there it is again with the same results. I have just learned to switch off my audio until I have finished my scan, then deal with the problem once and for all for that session of scanning. Unfortunately, in the meantime I miss the progress messages I would ordinarily get during the scanning process.

have you tried to get Jaws to read the message to you by either switching to
the Jaws cursor to explore the screen, or pressing Insert B to have jaws
read it? It sounds like it may be a Windows notice that an error was
encountered and asking you if you wish to have your computer automatically
send an error report to Microsoft for their database of errors to
investigate and fix.

I often get these same kind of messages when trying to open a file. I
always click on the don't send link if I can find it or just press the
spacebar on it. I wish I knew a way to disable this send or don't send
messages I often get. I don't believe they are there to help at all. Some
times the only way I can get rid of this stuff is just to reboot. At other
times I can choose another program to open the file and it works, sometimes.

Subject: Opening files in Word 2002
Hi, all,
I'm presently experiencing a problem opening files with Word 2002. There is an error message that JAWS won't read, but I know that there are two buttons: "send" and "Don't send". Any solution? Thanks!
