Thanks for the suggestion but I can't even find that option. I don't think it is enabled. It comes to mind though that I disabled Windows messenger at start-up, I don't have any use for instant messaging. I can't think how that would do anything though. The message is that the updates have been downloaded but cannot be installed because another Symantec product is using a file which cannot be overwritten. Damned if I know what it is.
