Hi all,
First let me say, I posted last night that the new ad aware worked fine with
Jaws and the current Jaws scripts. I was mistaken because even though Jaws
tells me that all items are checked, no items actually are checked by
hitting the control M keystroke. I since have tested the new ad aware with
the scripts with both Jaws 5 and Jaws 6. Both versions of Jaws works fine
with ad aware with the current scripts. You have to do a couple of
additional keystrokes, but everything else works just fine!
Below I have listed steps in how to scan your system using the new ad aware
1.06.
1 Start up ad-aware.
2 After loading, you should be on the status button.
3 Tab once, and you should be on the scan now button, then press the space
bar.
4 Hit control N for Next to start scanning.
5 While it is scanning, you can keep up with the progress and how much
spyware it has found by first rooting Jaws to PC. To root Jaws to PC hold
down the
insert key and hit the minus key on the numeric keypad. Then arrow down to
hear how many objects recognized. You can keep on arrowing down to hear
other information about what ad-aware has found so far. You can keep
on arrowing up and down and see if any of the information changes during the
scanning process. Just remember to turn the PC cursor back on once the
scanning
is complete.
6 Once the scanning is complete, if spyware is found, ad-aware will make a
sound. If not Jaws will tell you scanning is complete, 0 new critical
objects
found.
7 If you hear the sound and spyware is found, then hit control N for next.
If no spyware is found, just tab to the finish button and hit the space bar.
8 After hitting control N, you are given a list of all of the objects of
spyware that ad-aware found. Hit control M to put focus on that window with
the
list of items.
9 Hit the applications key to bring up the context menu.
10 In order to arrow up and down the context menu, you must use the Jaws
cursor. So root Jaws to PC. Arrow down to select all objects and hit the
left
mouse button.
11 This will select all objects, both the critical objects and the
negligible objects. Now hit control N for next.
12 A dialog box will pop up warning you that you are about to delete these
items, hit the space bar on the Okay button.
13 Your done, you can alt f4 to close out of the program.
Sorry for the mistake earlier, hope this helps!
