RE: Maximizing windows

You can manually drag it to fill the screen. 
(Do not use the maximize button, for that's a temporary setting that will
not be retained.) 

Now press the Ctrl button, and close this second window, holding the Ctrl
button depressed, using 'close' in the File menu (important!). 
All windows should now open full screen. They are not maximized, but filling
the screen.

Good morning 
Can any one advise a way to ensure that all application windows are set to
default so that they are set to maximize upon opening an application?

Any advice would be welcome.
