Anna,

Only just saw your message and thought of something that might help the
next time this happens.
First, why does it happen? I've seen this in Word 2000, and it's when
I've had two separate tables that have been joined together; Word seems
to remember the cell widths of the original tables and keep to them.
Second, how to uniformize the table. The way I've done this is to use
the following three step procedure.
1. Convert the table to text. With the cursor somewhere in the table,
open the Table menu, go into the Convert submenu and choose Table to
Text.
2. The untabulated text is still highlighted and JAWS might start to
read it, so press Control to mute JAWS. With the text still selected, go
into the Format menu and choose Tabs. This opens a dialog box; tab to
and press the Clear All button, then OK out of the dialogue.
3. The untabulated text is still highlighted, but the tab stops are now
set to the default values of 1.27 centimetres or half an inch. Now you
can tabulate it again and the column widths should be uniform. To do
this, open the Table menu and then into the Convert submenu and choose
Text to Table.

I realize it's a bit late for the table you originally enquired about,
and apologise for that, but maybe next time the above procedure might
work for you.
