Dennis,

You've got a *lot* of different problems here, and the first one, it feels like 
we're picking up in the middle (that is, you start out by saying something like 
"I'm still receiving error 6").

Could you list each one separately, and for the one I mentioned, could you 
describe it from the beginning?

Since you say these are happening to you on 2 different machines, perhaps it's 
some software you're running that's installed on both?  Software that most 
people don't have?

Or perhaps something to do with your network router (the speed issues) or 
network environment?  Are these pcs networked together?

Take the most troublesome one and perhaps work with it first.  It seems to be 
the stand-by one, but you're not really clear, are you putting the pcs into 
stand-by?
