RE: Looking for help with WordPerfect.

I have used WP for years, versions 5.1 through 12 (with the exception of 6 &
7), and intend to continue to do so. Tried word, but hate the way it is
always trying to interpret what I want instead of waiting for me to tell it
what to do. Within academics, writers are moving, at least in some
universities, to get back to, or retain the use of, WP.

Well, the switch that you can add to the shortcut to start WordPerfect so
that it uses standard video output methods is "/fl" (without the quotes).

You should know that WP wasn't supported on win2k or win/xp until version 9
(and then, only with the latest patch).

If you're going to continue with WordPerfect, I wouldn't try with 8, but I'd
go ahead and purchased 12 (the latest version). I think you'll still need
the /FL commandline switch, or, an equivalent registry key (which I think
jfw will install for you).

My opinion however, is that unless you have a huge library of WP documents
which you need continuing access to, I'd switch to Word as it is better
supported by jaws, and by the rest of the Windows community.
