Jaws speaking sluggishly

Hello Listers,
I am using jaws510.383, and when I'm typing emails, jaws really draggs in its
speech.
I'm using outlook2003.
If anyone has an idea of what could be going on, please let me know.
By the way, this only happens in outlook2003, and when I am sending an email.
