That helps perfectly! And it's an example of something I can very easily
see a use for, in circumstances like the example and others.

Thanks. In fact, maybe this would help for copying error messages that I
can read but can't access normally, and also for copying something like the
header information from the Properties tabs of information about an email
message.

Cool. Again, thanks for explaining.

Hi, lets make this easy.
Lets say you bring up the about dialog of a program. And you need to
send the version number you are using in a email message. Then you use
this command to load the about information in to the buffer and select
the version number copy it to the clipboard paste it in to your message.

There a good use of the feature. Jaws virtualizes the active window
when this command is used.

Bruce,
I wasn't really after a deep explanation of this trick. I'd be grateful

just for an example of a situation where you'd need it. For instance,
you
get some sort of message display or dialogue box on screen while Web
surfing, but it's not within the focus of Jaws in the normal sense,
because
you can only read the actual Web page beneath it but not touch the
dialogue
or message, even with the Jaws cursor? In such a case, is thais a way
to
manage to read whatever's in that box?

The key combination places the contents of the current window into the
virtual buffer, which then allows you to move around through the text
using your standard arrow keys and to select and copy the text. Offhand
I don't know where info would be found in the help file, though I'm
confident it's well-documented there. Try looking under virtual buffer.
