Jaws friendly antivirus software

Hi All,
I'm going to need to buy a new virus program to install on my laptop soon.
I've been using Norton but since Norton 2007 isn't accessible which ones out
there are good and are accessible? I'm using AVG free on my desktop but
when it scans and updates itself it slows down my typing tremendously so
since that happens to my desktop and my laptop has half as much memory on it
as my desktop does I don't want to use AVG on the laptop, at least not the
free version and not the payed version either if it is just as much of a
memory hog. Any other suggestions are fine though.
